Tervehdys kaikille.Keskustuluryhmässä kyseltiin onko koskaan suomeen
tuotu DB 50 D traktoria.Ohessa on kuva suomi-koneesta.Kuvattu joulukuussa
1997.Kuvauspaikka jätetään isännän toiveesta kertomatta.Traktoriin
oli laitettu nostolaitteet 5000 fordista,alunperin niitä ei ole.Koneesta
puuttui myös lokasuojat, istuin pitäisi olla sohvamallia ja nokalle
omat, eikä vanhan jyry-sisun. Kone oli jumissa ja edellinen remppa tehty
30 v sitten.Koneen hinta oli 5000 mummon rahaa millä se oli hänelle
tullu.Valmistusmäärä oli kovin pieni vain 1 260 yksilöä
viiden vuoden aikana.

Brown 990 ja lumilinko (snow blower)
This DB990 works on a farm in Peterborough County, Ontario, Canada. The engine
runs beautifully although I have had to do work on the brakes, electrics and
hydraulics. The tractor is used for mowing, logging, fencing, snowblowing
and other general farm chores. There are several DB's in neighbouring farms
- all white 990's or 1200's. The older red models or the smaller DB's seem
very rare in our part of the world.

I realised thet my 36" walk behind Husquavarna snow blower was not going
to do the job. I mentioned to some guys at work that I am going to need something
better to blow the snow. One guy called one evening to say there was a 62
DB 880 in the paper up in Wiarton for 4 thousand canadian dollars with loader
and 6' snow blower. He had also told me about the live PTO for blowing snow
you cant beat it because the blower runs and you can still stop or slow the
tractor down. I was on a steep learning curve but cash was the real deciding
factor a riding tractor mabey 18 h.p with blower at Sears would be 5 or 6
thousand, a new John Deere 20 to 40 thousand.
I went
up to see my old girl in a blinding snow storm the owner came out started
her up blew some snow, he told me the only reason he was selling it was because
his uncle was retiring from farming and was going to give him a deel he could
not refuse on a fairly new John Deere. All the lights worked and the tires
were good.
As soon as it was here I bagan to research this tractor as I knew absolutely
nothing about it but I needed repair manuals and filters so I stopped at a
wee place in Desboro that sold Case and asked about filters he told me about
Elmer Landman and Ive been a DB fan ever since I am still
trying to convince my wife that I need another tractor to use while I restore
this one. I have repacked front bearings, changed oil twice, greased, unseized
the brake peddles, heater in lower rad hose, fixed the seized up parking brake,
replaced battery cables and one battery, and replaced the sediment bowl on
the fuel tank. I even got the PTO clutch freed up and working like new. Not
bad for a 42 year old tractor eh.
This traktor is darn handy. I use it to put my welding machine in the back
of my pickup as well as pulling logs last winter I pulled a tandem axle truck
out of the ditch.

Meillä
on pitkät perinteet Taavetteihin, vaarini hankki ensimmäisen jo
vuonna 1963 ja tämä oli tietenkin malli 880 jonka omistamme huippukuntoisena
tänäpäivänäkin. Siitälähtien on meillä
menossa jo 14 Taavetti, mutta ei taatusti viimeinen.
Kokoelmastani puuttuu kolme ja kuusi sylinteriset mallit. Myös Taavetin
korjaukseen löytyy tietoa runsain määrin.

"This
a 1948 Allis-Chalmers Model U, the world's fastest production tractor. Capable
of an average spped of 35.4-mph( 57-km/h). It also was the first tractor use
rubber pneumatic tires. This tractor is equipped with a four-cylinder gasoline
engine (34-hp), built by Waukesha and designed by Allis-Chalmers. It also
has an electric starter and single-barrel updraft Zenith carburetor. These
tractors were in production from 1929 to 1952. My grandfather purchased in
1952 and it was still running as late as 1977. Currently it is being restored"

Cockshutt
1650 diesel "Evil Old Cockschutt".
The Cockshutt 1650 was made in Brantford, Ontario. It uses a 65-hp Waukesha
F-283 DLA indirect injection six-cylinder diesel. I don't when this tractor
was made, but it was in production from 1964 to 1967. Currently we are having
the engine rebuilt with a new block (the old one was cracked) and crankshaft.
